The interaction between turbulent flows and premixed flames remains a significant topic of interest for improved modeling efforts the advancement clean efficient combustion systems . Due to challenging nature problem, majority studies related turbulence-flame interactions have been conducted with unconfined numerical simulations or experimental burners. This paper describes effects flow confinement on dynamics reacting flows. An bluff-body facility is operated under confined conditions understand subsequent impact evolution field across flame. High-speed particle image velocimetry chemiluminescence diagnostics are simultaneously employed identify flame front capture velocity fields results show that follows classical description turbulence flame, in which fluctuations dampened product side In contrast, opposite trend observed configuration, augmented by reaction. difference two cases attributed expansion mean pressure gradients , alters balance flame-generated viscous dampening effects. Ultimately, provide new perspective highlight importance acquiring data environments better replicate practical systems.
